Dear Acquaint Book™ Owner,

Congratulations on becoming an Acquaint Book owner!

You now hold a truly special book. There are many like it, but this one is uniquely yours. As you embark on this journey, remember that this book is more than just a collection of pages; it’s a cherished memento of the people who make up your world. It will remind you of the fascinating and wonderful individuals you’ve met, and the memorable moments when acquaintances became friends, and friends became close friends.

Here’s how to make the most of your Acquaint Book:

  • Read This Letter: Begin by familiarizing yourself with this guide to understand how to use your Acquaint Book.

  • Review the Questions: Take a look at the questions in the book. If you own the printable Acquaint Book, it’s easy to remove any pages with questions you find unsuitable or uninteresting, or you can simply arrange the pages in the order that suits you best.

  • Be the First to Write: Choose a unique number to represent your responses and write your answers next to this number in the book. Sharing about yourself sets a welcoming tone and encourages others to open up and share more freely in return.

  • Be Free with Your Responses: It’s perfectly fine to answer some questions with responses like “n/a,” “not applicable,” “silly question,” or even “it’s a secret.” Make it fun and comfortable for you.

  • Keep It Respectful and Kind: Your responses should always be respectful and kind. Remember, cruelty has no place in friendship. Kindness makes for the best connections.

  • Pass It On: Share your Acquaint Book with someone you know well or someone you’d like to get to know better. Ask them to contribute their answers and leave some thoughtful parting words. Let them know how much their participation means to you and offer to be part of their memento if they create one.

  • Allow Time for Responses: Give each person a few days to fill out their part of the book. People enjoy engaging with your book, and it may take time for them to craft thoughtful responses and perhaps add a touch of creativity.

  • Show Appreciation: When you get your Acquaint Book back, always express your gratitude to each participant. Their involvement is what makes your book special.

  • Keep It Circulating: Continue to share your Acquaint Book and keep the circle of friends and acquaintances growing. Feel free to share your Acquaint Book with acquaintances you don’t know well. It’s a great opportunity to build new connections and promote a sense of community.

  • Embrace the Wear and Tear: Over time, your book may show signs of wear, and that’s perfectly fine. A spill, a bent corner, or a smudge only adds to its character and the unique story it tells. Remember, imperfections are part of its journey and your experiences.

  • Consider a New Book: As you make new acquaintances each year, you might want to start another Acquaint Book. Old friends and acquaintances can participate too; it will be fascinating to see how your friends’ preferences and views evolve over time.

  • Use the information you gathered in your Acquaint Book to do something special:

    • Create happy birthday cards for some special people from your Acquaint Book.

    • If you have a small gathering with friends, use their favorite drinks, foods, music, and movies to personalize the event.

    • Read a book that your acquaintances and friends mentioned; explore why they liked it, and discuss it with them.

    • Watch a movie that your acquaintances and friends recommended; find out why they enjoyed it and share your thoughts.

    • Identify who shares similar life goals with you, and discuss plans and pathways to achieving these goals.

    • Share and discuss your daydreams and aspirations with your friends—imaginative conversations can be both fun and inspiring.

    • Host an Acquaint Book Trivia game with your friends to celebrate and learn more about each other.

You’re now on a wonderful path of friendship and discovery. May your Acquaint Book bring you joy and many memorable moments!

Warm regards,

The Acquaint Book Team
